No one looks forward to getting a bug but if you begin to brew a cold, or any other kind of virus, it's your body talking to you – it is telling you to stop.   Symptoms are the language that our body uses to tell us what it needs at any particular time.  We have all been taught that illnesses are bad and mostly we dose up and carry on, but often an illness is a way to re-calibrate our system and give our body the break it is asking for.  Although it can be a challenge, listening to what it is saying will be the best way of helping.  The benefits of looking after yourself will outweigh any medical interventions. …. so

Sleep

A much-underrated past time, nowadays!

Fluids

Drink as much liquid as you can - it needn’t be plain water – add a slice or two of lemon and perhaps some ginger and make it a hot drink if that appeals.  And, of course, any of the herbal teas are perfect and will boost your liquid intake

Eat
Eat little and often if you are hungry and try to avoid 
mucus making foods such as dairy and stay off the added sugars
